VOLUNTARY NATIONAL FINALS
LEVEL 4, 3, & 2
6th & 7th NOVEMBER 2010
Representing the North in the Level 4 Voluntary National Finals at Guildford was Alex Learman, Jade Hepple, Dena Kirk and Olivia Bell. Leah Rockett travelled as the team reserve and also competed as an individual representing South Durham. The girls had a good competition and finished in 6th place as a team. Individually Alex finished in 6th place all round. With Alex’s compulsory score earlier in the year and her voluntary score from this competition added together, Alex finished in an excellent 6th place in the Level 4 British Championships. Leah is currently ranking 15th and Dena in 16th place.
Representing the North in the Level 3 Voluntary National Finals at Guildford was Claudia Barkes, Bethany Mclaughlin and Lauryn Armstrong. The girls competed well, but with only three on the team as Kelly Rogers withdrew, the girls had to carry all scores on each piece. The team finished in 7th place. Individually Claudia finished in 13th place. With Claudia’s compulsory score earlier in the year and her voluntary score from this competition, Claudia finished in 7th place in the Level 3 British Championships. Bethany is currently ranking 21st and Lauryn in 24th place.
Representing South Durham in the Level 2 Voluntary National Finals at Guildford was Amy Tinkler. In the Level 2 Championships you don’t qualify as part of a team, you represent your club as an individual gymnast. Amy had an excellent competition and finished in 5th place. With Amy’s compulsory score earlier in the year and her voluntary score from this competition, Amy finished in an excellent 4th place all round in the Level 2 British Championships.
Altogether we had three gymnasts, one in each level, ranking in the top 10 in the country for their age groups. An excellent result for the club.
