Pink Ladies Invitational

The Pink Ladies Invitational is South Durham’s annual competition. The first event took place in 2008 with 150 gymnasts from primarily the North East of England in attendance. Fast forward to now, and the event has grown hugely, hosting over 500 gymnasts from all over the UK.

The event accommodates a range of different levels of competition, from budding gymnasts aged 8 years, through to the FIG (Federation of International Gymnastics) competition, showcasing some of the best young gymnastics in Great Britain (including performances from our homegrown international gymnasts). As well as an opportunity for the gymnasts, the event is important for the Club as gate entries helps to fund upkeep and maintenance of the gym.

The 3-day competition creates a unique opportunity to showcase Spennymoor and its surrounding areas to a mass of gymnasts and their families. Feedback from the previous years’ events, is that the competition is well-run, hugely professional and a real highlight for every gymnast that participates regardless of how well they performed. This could not be accomplished without a large team of volunteers. Each member of the South Durham team volunteers their time to run the event alongside many of our gymnast parents and siblings.
