Claire Smith, Rose Cole and Keira Pedelty all travelled down to Stoke at the weekend to compete in the British Gymnastics Compulsory Levels amongst the top gymnasts from Great Britain.
Claire and Rose were representing the North region in the Compulsory Level 4 competition alongside two teammates from the City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy. Both girls had clean competitions all around and gained huge amounts of experience from their first ever National Finals! Claire finished the competition in an excellent 14th place and Rose in an excellent 39th place.
Keira was next to take to the floor in the Compulsory Level 3 competition and was the only gymnast competing for the North region. Keira had one fall on beam but finished off strong and nailed the rest of her routines. Keira finished the competition in an absolutely amazing 5th place all around making her the 5th best gymnast in Great Britain in her age category!
All three girls represented both themselves and South Durham beautifully and we can't wait to see them progress further in the coming months.
