Emily spent many years training with our elite squad and on retirement from gymnastics thrust herself straight into athletics to pursue her dream of competing for GB!

Pink Events 2 Piece Championships 2017

A jam packed weekend of competition for our Intermediate and General Squad gymnasts as they competed in the Pink Events 2 Piece Championships.
The competition started off on Saturday at Wansbeck Gymnastics Club where we had 12 girls entered in rounds 1 and 2. South Durham Gymnastics were very proud to have Ellie, Charlotte and Harriet qualify for the British NDP championships this month where the 3 girls travelled down to Stoke for the weekend to compete against gymnasts from all over the country on range, vault, bars, beam and floor.

Super proud of all our beautiful Pink Ladies who competed in the North of England Regional Grades at the beginning of May!! You were all fantastic and performed some stunning routines.

The competition was held at City of Newcastle Gymnastics Academy where our gymnasts competed alongside a number of other clubs from around the region performing set routines on range, vault, bars, beam and floor. After another great national squad for Mia and Leah we have some exciting news . Mia had been invited as a guest for this squad which in itself is a huge honour . Mercedes Moore competed at the National Compulsory Level 2 this weekend in Stoke and after battling an ankle injury for numerous weeks Mercedes had a fantastic competition. She started off on bars where she had a fabulous clean routine, hitting all her handstands and precise turns, she then moved over to beam where she only had one mistake but managed to carry on her routine cleanly. First National Talent Development Squad

Mercedes and Josie spent the weekend at Lilleshall National Sports Centre attending their first National Talent Development Squad of the year. The two girls trained alongside some of the best clubs in the country, mixing with other gymnasts and working alongside different coaches. The girls completed two 8 hour training days, staying overnight on Lilleshall grounds, getting the chance to make lots of new friends and mix with other clubs.
