Our Intermediate and General Squad gymnasts had an amazing competition at the weekend as they took part in the Pink Events 2 Piece Team Championships 2018. The gymnasts competing qualified for this event earlier in the month at the individual Pink Events 2 Piece Championships where they performed a floor routine and a vault and battled it out against other clubs to see which team scored the overall highest score in each level. We are very very proud to announce that we have 3 brand new club judges and 1 brand new regional judge who have all passed their exams with flying colours. The gym are very pleased to congratulate Julie on passing her Level 3 Women's Artistic Coaching Qualification! Julie has been working tirelessly over the past few months to get her level 3 work completed and we are very excited to see her put her new knowledge into practice in the gym![..]

Last weekend we hosted the very busy Pink Events 2 Piece Championships 2018 in our gym with all of our General Squad and a large amount of Intermediate Squad gymnasts taking part. The competition was a qualifier for the Pink Events 2 Piece Team Championships 2018 which will be taking place later on this month. Last weekend we had Abbey, Fran and Lily travel down to Stoke to compete alongside the best NDP gymnasts in the country as they took part in their National Finals which they all qualified for earlier in the year.
Abbey and Fran were first to compete out of the 3 girls and their competition was on the Saturday. Both girls had an excellent clean competition, performing steady routines with only a few small errors from both girls on the beam. Fran finished in a credible 25th place and Abbey in a[..]

Keira Pedelty travelled down to the British Gymnastics Compulsory Level 4 competition on Friday after qualifying with the highest North score in the Regional competition earlier last month.

Keira's competition took place on Saturday morning where she and the rest of the North team started their competition on rest and then moved round the 4 pieces from vault to bars, beam, floor and then finally range. Our elite girls had their first competition of the year on Sunday with their compulsory, national and development grades held here at South Durham Gymnastics Club. Well done to all girls who passed their grades and performed all of their routines with beautiful style and confidence. Awesome results from the day!

Fantastic news to announce...Mia and Leah have both been reselected for the Great Britain Junior Squad 2018 . Massive congratulations to both girls, we all know how hard they have both worked for this!
