It is with a very heavy heart, South Durham Gymnastics have made the very difficult decision to close its doors for the foreseeable future, effective from 5.30pm today (Thursday 19th March 2020).
These are very uncertain times for the Club and its dedicated team of staff. As a Charity, South Durham are unable to access any of the business loans and grants that have been announced by the Chancellor.

South Durham Gymnastics (SDG) have followed guidelines from the Government and have had discussions with Durham County Council and British Gymnastics – and at this stage we have not been asked to close.
Naturally, after today’s decision to close schools from Friday, we are reviewing this and are continuing to take all of the necessary advice.

Following on from our communication yesterday, South Durham Gymnastics would like to issue a further update. This afternoon, Durham County Council announced the closure of all of their Leisure Facilities as from tomorrow (Thursday 19th March). HOWEVER, as an independent organisation, it has been confirmed that we are able to remain open and operative. Therefore, all Recreational (Pre-School, Gymnastics and Trampolining) and Squad sessions will continue to run as normal until further notice. W[..]

Following on from the Government’s latest updates, we would like to confirm that South Durham Gymnastics will remain open and all sessions will continue to run as normal, unless advised otherwise by British Gymnastics or Public Health England. Amid the public concerns re: COVID-19 we would like to provide an update from South Durham Gymnastics (SDG).
SDG will continue to operate, business as usual, until advised otherwise by Durham County Council.

An exciting day for a few of our Mini Pinks who travelled to Carlisle last weekend to attend the North Development Day alongside other clubs in the North of England.All 6 girls worked super hard and showed everyone just how awesome Team Pink are!Well done to Hollie who won a prize for working hard during testing and also for achieving 17 straddle lever to handstands! We couldn’t be more proud to see Nic & Rach’s names on the Coaches Honours Board at the National Gymnastics Centre in Lilleshall.
The prestigious new Honours Board names all of the personal coaches who have coached a gymnast to an Olympic medal.
Nic & Rach are very humbled & honoured that British Gymnastics have recognised the achievements of the coaches in this way.
